You might find this hard to believe, but up until the last decade, the only trips I ever went on was Ocean City, Maryland and a Jewish retirement community in Del Ray Beach, Florida. My family didn’t go on vacations. That’s where the yearning began. I would spend hours watching the Travel Channel. Samantha Brown was my favorite. She was this cool, savvy, charismatic woman who befriended people all over the world, ate fabulous food, and went on fabulous adventures. That’s going to be me, is what I told myself. And I was right.
